Common Questions

Have a question about Aliso CrossFit? Wow, we must be great mind readers. Hopefully, we can answer a few for you in the FAQs below. If not, feel free to contact us and we’ll reply back as soon as we can.
What Is CrossFit?

CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Since then it has evolved to be an all inclusive fitness program for people of any athletic capability. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, sports, and life all reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.

The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our armed forces, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.

What does pricing look like?

I'm new to CrossFit. What should I expect?

First, we invite you to schedule a free one-on-one training session to show you what you can expect at Aliso CrossFit.

After your free one-on-one training session we have a great program for people who are new to functional fitness. The Aliso CrossFit Foundations Course is a 4-week program that repeats every 4 weeks. You can jump in at any time during the cycle, but we ask that you complete 12 classes as a prerequisite to joining the CrossFit or Weightlifting classes.

You can read more details about both of these programs on our PROGRAMS AND RATES page.

Is CrossFit dangerous?

CrossFit can be dangerous with inexperienced coaches, shoddy equipment, and the wrong attitude – but so can riding your bike or driving your car. The experienced and proven CrossFit coaches you’ll find at Aliso CrossFit will ensure that you’re training in the safest most effective and efficient way possible.

What's a WOD?

A WOD is the workout of the day. We program a different WOD everyday.
